Book Review: Introductions by C.L Stone (The Ghost Bird Series #1)

With an agoraphobic mother and a barely-there father, Sang abhors the isolation keeping her in the shadows. The only thing Sang craves is a fresh start and to be accepted as ordinary by her peers, because for her being different meant being cast out alone.

When her family moves to a new school district, Sang infiltrates a group of boys nearly perfect in every way. Grateful for an influence outside of her parents’ negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends.

Only the boys have secrets of their own and they’ll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they've sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected. Will her loyalty change when she's forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she's traded one house of secrets for another?

Meet Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North in a story about differences and loyalty, truth and mystery, friendships and heart-throbbing intimacy.

The Academy, ever vigilant.

My star rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Introductions by C.L Stone is a story about a young girl who has been so sheltered and hidden experience life for the first time with a group of new friends. Introductions follows Sang Sorenson as she learns about family, friendship, love, and loyalty. This book, and the rest of the series, is one of my all time favourites. It may be my fifth or sixth time reading it and it still pulls me in every time. That is why I just had to do a review for it. It will also serve as a book recommendation too. It's just that awesome.

Will you stop being cute? Your nose is smudging the window. My god, you’re worse than a puppy.

We first meet Sang as she is in the middle of running away for the night to get away from her abusive and crazy mother. This is also when we meet Kota, one of the nine swoon-worthy guys to grace this series. A friendship is quickly formed and from there we go on to meet the rest of the Academy guys. The book is called Introductions and that is exactly what we get. It doesn't disappoint though, you will be addicted to this series after reading the first few chapters of book one.

Will you buckle in? It’s bad enough we kidnapped you.

Now, I have read a lot of reviews on Goodreads saying that this book, is so terrible that it should burnt. Well I say don't listen. Ignore those reviews, they don't know what they're talking about. This book is amazing, addictive, and astonishing. Don't just take my word for it though, the first book is FREE on Amazon, check it out.

Trust your family. Family is a choice. Family first, Academy second. When your family can’t be there for you, the Academy always will be.

C.L Stone has done a great job at reeling the reader in. It is a well written, easy to read story with a superb, yet maybe a bit cliché, storyline. The characters are extremely developed, not to mention H-O-T. Next book boyfriend(s)? Check. Don't start this book unless you plan on reading the next eleven books in the series. Full of excitement, mystery and intrigue, Introductions sucks you in and leaves you wanting more.
