Random Ramblings #1

Wow, this is my first real post on this blog. I say real because introductory posts don’t count, they are important, necessary. Now that I’m staring at the screen, I don’t know what to right. What do you write at a time like this? Well, I’ll give it a go.

So, this week I was fortunate to have off work (Yay!), which is lucky because I became ill LAST Friday night, and I am still ill now *sad face* and we had the raging Storm Ciara running wild outside, Now it's Dennis' turn. I thought this is the PERFECT time to get some writing done. Now, I haven’t written anything since the beginning of the year, and I am only rewriting my current WIP, it’s the second draft and I am SO proud of it. It’s the second book in the Taken series and I can not wait to share it with you guys. This week I managed to rewrite four chapters at a total word count of 10.5k, taking my full word count up to 37.5k, and I still have ten chapters left to rewrite.

Here’s a teaser:

"I want you to promise me something though." he says quietly and I can hear the pain behind his voice.

"Anything." I whisper, knowing I won’t like it.

"I want you to promise me that if I get caught, if I get locked up, you will take Maria and you will run. I need to know you will be safe." he looks at me, waiting for me to say yes.

"No." I say harshly, ripping my hands from his grip. I shake my head, horrified that he would even ask me to leave him behind like that. "Damien, if you get caught and sent to prison, I promise you that I will do everything in my power to get you out, I promise you that."

I am hoping to get this book out by the end of the year and I can't wait to hear what you guys think. Some of you who have read the first book have said you didn’t expect the ending at all, but hopefully this book makes up for the twist. I have the ending of the series all ready in my mind and it is going to be glorious (I hope), and everyone gets their own version of a HEA.

I am actually having so much fun writing this book, I have a lot of new characters that I have fallen in love with, and I think you guys will too, and if I do say so myself, the plot is spot on, but I will leave that for you to decide.

I have also been getting A LOT of new ideas for future books– my notepad of ideas is almost full now, luckily I have loads more– and I look forward to diving head first into them and making them blossom into a story you will adore. I am also hoping to get at least two short stories out this year, one a Halloween ghost story, the other a love story, but they are stories for another day.
